PAPERWORK
Please complete the following after your swimmer has been offered a spot.
1) FOR PAYMENT: Register to pay on the WSC page on the Westport Parks and Rec site.
2) FOR COMMUNICATION: Register (no cost) on the WSC web site. This needs to be done every August for the new academic year.
3) FOR INSURANCE: We will post information here around early September about getting a $24 annual Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) membership.
4) FOR TRAINING: Buy equipment for your swimmer
- Swim suits / swim trunks: We recommend your swimmer try one on for size at Metro Swim Shop at 666 Main Ave, Norwalk, near Michele's Pies.
- For boys, get tight jammers, not board shorts (too much drag!), $15-25
- For girls, get competitive practice suits, $25-35 Suits should be tight to minimize drag.
- Sample sizing (and we'd still recommend going to Metro) Size 26: 4’8 and 75 lbs Size 28: 4’8” to 5’2” and 85-100 lbs Size 30: 5’2” and 100-110 lbs
- 2 pairs of goggles: 1 pair for practice, 1 spare pair
- For little faces "junior fit" (2nd-3rd graders)
- For larger faces (3rd graders to adults), any TYR, Sporti, Speedo (most pricy) goggles with the double strap and an adjustable nose piece. We have them at the pool for $15-20/pair.
- 1 cap for long hair: WSC team caps available at the pool, $15 regular, $18 for long hair
- 1 pair of competitive swimming fins (not snorkeling fins), $25-35. There are several used pairs at the pool now for $10. First come, first served.
- 1 mesh bag to contain all the aforementioned wet gear, $8-20. We have a few at the pool.
